Be Still And Know

Life is full of movement. If we are moving, we are living. Yet movement can also be exhausting—physically and mentally.

In some ways, movement can be paralyzing. We can feel stuck because though we’re moving all over the place it might not seem like there’s any real direction or meaning behind it. We know we’re moving, but we wonder if we’re really getting anywhere.

God says, “Be still.” I looked it up and the word “still” comes from a Hebrew word meaning to “let go” or “release” or “surrender”. If you’re anything like me right now, you have lots of “movement” in your life but truthfully need a little “be still”, surrender, let go and release.

Don’t be afraid of the unknown in your life as you walk into this New Year. We can take comfort in letting go and resting in God and knowing that He promises to provide, to help, to heal and to strengthen us through it all.

May peace surround us while we’re being just a little more “still”.

A fellow traveler,

TT
