Some waiting seasons feel almost unbearable—when prayers go unanswered, when pain lasts longer than we ever imagined, or when life takes a turn we never saw coming. And sometimes, the hardest part isn’t just what we’re facing—it’s not understanding why. Why didn’t God - [When You Feel Off](http://tammytrent.com/when-you-feel-off/) - I wanted to take a moment to encourage you...especially if today feels a little heavy - because some days can just feel "off". You can’t always explain it. Nothing major happened… nothing you can point to and say, that’s the reason. But something inside of you feels unsettled. A little heavier. A little distracted. A little out - [Where are You now, God?](http://tammytrent.com/where-are-you-now-god/) - Sometimes you don't fully understand, but you can feel God doing something deeper. - [Hope Still Wins](http://tammytrent.com/hope-still-wins/) - Each year around this time, I step away to celebrate the life Trent is living in heaven and to thank the Lord for all He’s done in my life since those tragic days at the Blue Lagoon on September 10th & 11th. This year, my heart is also deeply gutted over the death of Charlie - [When Hope Grows Back](http://tammytrent.com/when-hope-grows-back/) - A story about a struggling tree became a reminder: God brings new life, even in hard seasons. If you're waiting or hurting, this will speak to you. - [TT Sings with The Beach Boys](http://tammytrent.com/tt-sings-with-the-beach-boys/) - Hey ya’ll, it’s Anita here — I wanted to take a moment to share something really cool with you! Years ago, Tammy had the incredible opportunity to fly to Santa Monica, CA to record one of the most iconic Beach Boys songs of all time in their studio — “God Only Knows” — with the - [Becoming Stronger When Life Breaks](http://tammytrent.com/becoming-stronger-when-life-breaks/) - Today is another beautiful Tennessee morning. I'm fighting a cold, so I slept in just a bit. As I rolled out of bed, I grab my robe, my computer and a cup of tea to settle in for the better half of the day in my study. I've stared out the window of my study now for at least 45 minutes asking God to give me a fresh word. And…..nothing. Nothing comes to mind. My fingers are frozen to the keys on my computer. "Move fingers, type something brilliant!" I think it's just one of those days when I feel numb and I'm at a loss for words, but the tears fall freely. I miss the life that I once knew. I miss the love that surrounded my life. - [Knowing God in Both Ways](http://tammytrent.com/knowing-god-in-both-ways/) - What a simply incredible week end it's been spent here in Niagara Falls Ontario. I flew up yesterday to join the 100 Huntley Street Women's Conference and we had a blast last night. Women came from all over Canada, but in particular there was a special group of Women that came from an Indian Reservation 14 hours away. They were sitting in the very back of the room, so I thought it would be cool, toward the end of my set, to get off the platform and make my way through the crowd all the way back to their group while singing AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS. One of the women in the group began to cry out uncontrollably as I was singing near her. - [My Olympic Run](http://tammytrent.com/my-olympic-run/) - There isn't a day that goes by when I haven't received a sweet email, a touching card, a precious gift or a picture of Trent and I that someone took at a concert of us. There isn't a day that goes by when I don't wake up crying out for Trent just to hold me because I had a horrible dream about losing him. I'm realizing my dreams are real, the pain is real, the questions and tears are never ending, and yet in my second breath of the day I say with the littlest of strength, "Jesus I love you...Trent I love you". And I know He meets me right where I'm at to carry me through the rest of my day. I still say with all of my heart, "Thank You!" I could write a book about all the love that I've felt from you all. - [The Heart of Tammy](http://tammytrent.com/the-heart-of-tammy/) - I know many of you are wondering how I'm doing and how to pray for me, so I thought I would take just a moment this morning to put my heart down on paper. First of all, Thank you soo much for all your love and prayers, cards, letters, emails, flowers, food, books and financial gifts in Trent's honor. I can't begin to express to you just how deeply this has affected my life! There are days when I can't even breath...when the tears never stop, and I feel my life slipping away. It's during that time when I take every ounce of faith that I have and lift up my eyes towards Heaven to allow the Lord to pick me up out of this dark pit in my life. - [Dare To Be Bold & Believe](http://tammytrent.com/dare-to-be-bold-believe/) - I love the story of Joshua. Scripture says in Joshua 10:12-14, He was in the midst of a great battle and he and his men were trying to finish off this army before the sun went down. He knew that this army would rise up and cause them soo many problems if he didn't. Joshua could have easy gotten discouraged and had a defeated attitude but he stepped up and a new boldness surrounded him. He said, "God I know this is totally unusual and completely out of the ordinary but I'm asking you to stop the sun for me so I can complete this task at hand. I need daylight." - [Walk It Out](http://tammytrent.com/walk-it-out/) - My life was forever changed 10 years ago. It's soo hard to believe it's been 10 years already. I'm moved to tears at this moment thinking about days missed, yet embracing the days the Lord has given me to discover all the many new adventures surrounding my life... when I was ready for them. I've been shaken to the core and still I stand with my fist held high proclaiming that I am unshakeable in this moment. But that's just it. Sometimes we go from moment to moment, day to day, season to season. Even in chaotic uncertain times we can be assured that our very lives are in the grip of a loving God. - [Honoring My Friend Who Was Just Killed in a Plane Crash!](http://tammytrent.com/my-friend-killed-in-a-plane-crash/) - On September 8th, mine and Anita's precious friend Lieutenant Colonel Shelli Huether was killed in a plane crash here in TN, along with 2 other airman. Shelli started her military career in the Texas Air National Guard as a Navigator and has deployed five times. Her current assignment was with the 118th Airlift Wing in Nashville TN. Shelli had a servant's heart and spent countless hours volunteering with the USO, Operation Stand Down, and many other charities and non-profit organizations - [Do You Need A Miracle?](http://tammytrent.com/do-you-need-a-miracle/) - I wanted to share an encouraging word with you today because I believe God is wanting to do something powerful in all our lives, especially if we've been praying and asking God for that miracle surrounding our circumstances. Sometimes, we look at the miracles in the Bible and think they were reserved for a different time, but the truth is, God is still in the miracle-working business. - [Navigating the Storms with Faith](http://tammytrent.com/navigating-the-storms-with-faith/) - Life can be unpredictable, can't it? One moment, everything seems smooth sailing, and the next, we're caught in a storm that rocks our faith to its core. It's during these tumultuous times that our faith can feel shaken, especially when we see those we once looked up to falter or walk away from the path. But let's take a deep breath together and remind ourselves that our journey as followers of Christ isn't about the calm seas but about who is guiding us through the storm. - [9/11 - 20 Years Later, Never Forgetting](http://tammytrent.com/9-11-20-years-later-never-forgetting/) - Here we are again...September 11th. 20 years ago, on this day, I got the phone call that I had dreaded getting all night long the night before….”Tammy, we found Trent.” He was about 100’ below the water in Jamaica’s Blue Lagoon, still hanging onto his underwater scooter, and it appears something had struck him on the back of the head while he was free diving. And he didn’t survive. He didn’t make it. He was gone. - [Will Your Anchor Hold?](http://tammytrent.com/will-your-anchor-hold/) - All of us have faith, but will your anchor of faith hold in the storms of life? Is your anchor of faith a true anchor? Is your faith built upon the truth of scripture? Is your faith tested? Do you know how valuable, revealing and full of love a faith in Christ is? - [Chill in the Air!](http://tammytrent.com/chill-in-the-air/) - I feel it all around me. The hot breath of summer has slowly changed to a refreshing chill in the air. Change. There’s that word again! There is change that grows us. Change that makes us better people. Change that opens our eyes to things that we were once blinded to. Change that forces us to reevaluate our motives or life goals. And all of these type of changes offer new opportunity…IF we choose to step into it. - [Saturday Morning Coffee Shops](http://tammytrent.com/saturday-morning-coffee-shops/) - It’s 7:00am on a beautiful cool crisp sunny Saturday morning and I’m sitting in a coffee shop alone in downtown Nashville trying to “hold it all in”….but my tears testify in this photo. Soo many things encompassing my life the last couple months, has felt like a big ole pile of stress, anxiety and disappointment. I’ve been overwhelmed to say the least. And if one more thing arises I might need to sit in an empty room and rock back and forth until it all goes away….OR I could also just sit on a beach somewhere! That seems more like my style! - [Finding Some Kind Of Joy](http://tammytrent.com/finding-some-kind-of-joy/) - Finding Joy can be a challenge for alot of people. Especially during a year long pandemic when nothing has been normal. But when I talk about joy, I’m not doing so from the perspective of a bubbly person who never seems to have a bad day or questions WHY! Many of us think that joy means feeling good all the time. That’s impossible! Even for those who are naturally upbeat and optimistic, that’s impossible. - [Be Still And Know](http://tammytrent.com/be-still-and-know/) - Life is full of movement. If we are moving, we are living. Yet movement can also be exhausting—physically and mentally. In some ways, movement can be paralyzing. We can feel stuck because though we're moving all over the place it might not seem like there's any real direction or meaning behind it. We know we're moving, but we wonder if we're really getting anywhere. - [Where Is My Blessing?](http://tammytrent.com/where-is-my-blessing/) - Earthly blessings are temporary; they can all be taken away. And oh what pain and disappointment that can bring. Job’s blessings all disappeared in one fateful day. I, too, had a wonderful life that was stripped away within seconds. My husband was gone and my dreams were shattered. And yet, in the midst of those painful days that followed, I began to experience God’s truest and richest blessings. My faith was growing stronger than I had experienced before. I felt a deeper love than I had ever known. - [When things aren't adding up, start subtracting!](http://tammytrent.com/when-things-arent-adding-up-start-subtracting/) - We all have had people and “things” in our lives that feel important to us, but when something or someone is toxic and damaging to our lives we HAVE to consider removing it in order to achieve more...to keep moving forward. So decide what it is that stops you from changing, what it is that has been keeping you in one place for months or years possibly, what it is that holds you back from ALL that God has for you! - [When It Hurts](http://tammytrent.com/when-it-hurts/) - There’s probably no deeper sadness that ever comes over the mind than the idea that we are all alone in this world. That no one cares, that no one sees us or hears us, that no one is concerned about anything that might happen to us, especially if we’re hurting and in pain. I think that deep down inside all of us, is a desire to be loved, wanted, carried, held, valued, seen as equals, to belong and to be with others that make us feel safe. - [Happy 25th Ministry Anniversary, Tammy](http://tammytrent.com/happy-25th-ministry-anniversary-tammy/) - t has taken me days to process everything that happened last Monday night here in Nashville. It was truly the biggest surprise of my life time. I had no idea that “girls night out” with my best friends was actually a planned for months "set up" surprise gathering at the elegant and luxurious Sambuca with some pretty amazing people that mean the world to me. - [What To Do With This Fear, Worry, and Anxiety](http://tammytrent.com/what-to-do-with-this-fear-worry-and-anxiety/) - I know many of us might be carrying an extra load of worry, anxiety and fear right now. Especially as we face so many tough situations, changes and unknowns. Sometimes it’s easy to choose to rely upon our own strength rather than upon God and His Word. If you’re anything like me, then you know that we can often forget that God can handle ANY problem. Or perhaps we think we can do a better job handling the situation ourselves. Either way, when we choose to lean on our own understanding instead of God's promises, we are placing ourselves, or the overwhelming situations we are facing, "before" the Lord. - [I Need Something New](http://tammytrent.com/i-need-something-new/) - Life is full of broken dreams, heart ache, challenges, mind blinding circumstances and plans that feel like they keep falling short. It can feel at times like we’re living in the wilderness of self-defeat with different shades of pain and numbness. For many, we lose the hope to believe in the place called tomorrow or a new beginning. In spite of these difficulties, God’s word stands solid as an anchor to take you to your promised land. God does not want you to remain where you are if you're feeling hopeless. - [God Can't Redeem What We Will Not Release](http://tammytrent.com/god-cant-redeem-what-we-will-not-release/) - Often we hold on soo tightly to things in our lives or our own way of thinking because we don’t want to change or it’s just soo hard to let go. But God can't redeem what we will not release. Maybe we forget that He still holds the power to heal and to set free. - [Get Out Of My Way!](http://tammytrent.com/get-out-of-my-way/) - Focus on your God and not your giants. Yikes. Can someone teach ME how to do that too! :) Have an attitude of victory and not defeat. Now that's how I wanna live! :) I know that we're all going through different seasons in our lives right now. Some are moving into that NEW season and some may feel like you're lagging behind and you can't seem to get out of your season. - [Tammy Shares Her Heart](http://tammytrent.com/tammy-shares-her-heart/) - First of all, Thank you soo much for all your continued love and prayers. I still really really need it. Sunday was Trent's 33rd Birthday. There are so many "first's" right now in my life without Trent. Today I walked into my home after running an errand and I just stopped at the door...I couldn't go any further. I felt the tears running down my face as I was trying to catch my breath. It was one more moment of realizing that Trent himself won't ever be inside these doors waiting for me to walk in again. I was starting to feel like I was going to fall apart and all of the sudden I spoke out loud to myself, "Tammy, You're OK! - [I'm Holding On](http://tammytrent.com/im-holding-on/) - I've been trying hard to find the strength and the words to write to you all again. I know many of you have been asking and wondering how I'm doing, so I'll do my best to let you inside my heart as I find it in many pieces these days. I spent the holidays in - [I'm Trying to Spring Ahead](http://tammytrent.com/im-trying-to-spring-ahead/) - I know it's been some time since I've let you in on things that surround my life. So I thought I would try to put into words this afternoon how I seem to be doing. Everyday is a battle within my heart to find my place without Trent. To sort of rebuild my life and wonder what he might say about every corner that I turn now. I completely trusted Trent's protection and covering, so I never walked in fear. Now I fight fear of simply just being the head of our home now. I don't always know what's the best decision to make and I find myself just wanting to talk to him about all of it. - [One Year Ago!](http://tammytrent.com/one-year-ago/) - I think this update is more for me than anybody right now. It's been awhile since I've sat down and written out my heart and my thoughts. Some times it's just too painful to think about, so I tuck it away so I can just get through the days. But other times I know I have to face it, however painful it still feels. I know it helps me to write. I think tonight I find myself having a really hard time "keeping it together" knowing this month and the next couple of weeks specifically are probably going to be the hardest for me to face. - [A New Season!](http://tammytrent.com/a-new-season/) - A new season has come and I continue to grow with each changing color and with each passing month. My time in Michigan last month at Trent's resting place was beautiful. I spent about 3 hours there. Laying on my blanket, listening to our favorite music and reading my Bible. I laid on my back, staring up at the sky through the trees and listened to the wind blow. It was a beautiful peaceful day as I watched two white butterflies chasing one another all afternoon above me. There was healing in that moment. There was healing at that time. - [There's Sunshine in My Life](http://tammytrent.com/theres-sunshine-in-my-life/) - Today is another rainy day in Nashville but somehow I always manage to find a little sunshine creeping through the clouds. I'm finding that there is great strength when you search for sunshine in your life. Never let the clouds cover you for too long. I wanted to let you know that I did decide to record "You're Worthy Of My Praise" with Maranatha! Music. It was my first time back in the studio in about 2-1/2 years and what a special moment for me it was. Singing while staring out the window at a pasture of horses and farmland. - [Breathing Again](http://tammytrent.com/breathing-again/) - It's been awhile since I've shared my journey with you all. So I thought I'd try and catch you up a bit. I was recently asked to write an article for the Women Of Faith magazine called "Connection" for their July/August issue. I've titled it, "Breathing Again" and thought I'd share it with you. They've also asked me to join them again next year for their "Irrepressible Hope" Tour. I'm completely loving it and sooo happy to do more conference with them. It's soo healing for me. - [Getting Through Year 2](http://tammytrent.com/getting-through-year-2/) - What a beautiful Fall day it is here in Nashville. The sky is blue and it's about 72 degrees outside. I'm sitting by the pool taking it all in. Of course, I have jeans and a sweater on, but at least my bare feet are getting a tan. I take a deep breath as I listen to the gentle sounds of water rippling in the pool while the wind blows the trees in the woods behind me. I hear the birds playing and the leaves falling. It's soo peaceful here. My heart is peaceful even through the tears that still fall. - [All The Loose Ends](http://tammytrent.com/all-the-loose-ends/) - On our life’s journey we’ll all face many different situations, experiences and relationships. Sometimes we have gains, and we laugh. Sometimes we have losses, and we cry. Sometimes our hearts are broken, and we isolate. Sometimes our song is played, and we celebrate. Sometimes we really blow it, and we sink. Sometimes we get it right, and we smile. - [2010 Confessions & Commitment](http://tammytrent.com/2010-confessions-commitment/) - My phone just rang. I answered and said, "Hello Lisa, how are you?" And she replied, "I'm building Character. How are you?" I LOVED it. What a cool response. What a purposeful thing to say. I told Lisa that I'm STEELING that phrase this year. Because more than anything it will remind me of what I long to be each time it comes out of my mouth. A woman of character in everything that I do. Which actually means that I need to keep working on some things that seem to be taking me some time...years to achieve. (smile) - [Lift Up Your Eyes](http://tammytrent.com/lift-up-your-eyes/) - This month is a really simple Devotional word for us all....LIFT UP YOUR EYES! Psalm 121 gives us a really clear picture of the way God cares for us in such a personal way and on a very personal level. "I lift up my eyes to the hills - where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth" (vv.1,2). - [Listen To Me Continually](http://tammytrent.com/listen-to-me-continually/) - I don't know about you but I can always use a little more of the Presence of God in my life. Sometimes I get going sooo fast that I honestly forget to talk to Jesus or to "bring Him into the situations of life" with me. Ya know what I mean? Simple but true right! :) I was at a girlfriends house last night and she handed me this new devotional that she got by Sarah Young titled JESUS CALLING. Holly said, "honestly there isn't a day that goes by when it doesn't speak to my life on some level". - [Turn! Turn! Turn!](http://tammytrent.com/turn-turn-turn/) - The challenge of "moving on" from our past and into our future is much easier said than done, especially when soo much is undefined and at times can be far from a secure feeling in our lives. But what most of us can probably say about "moving on" is that we KNOW it's something that will be good for us, better for us and something that God is calling us to. A place where the sun is shining a little brighter and the air is more lovely to breathe. - [God is Preparing You](http://tammytrent.com/god-is-preparing-you/) - Happy December everyone. There's soo much for us to be thankful for. And I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner. Did you all get my Christmas list this year? LOL No worries, there's just a few things I want like Peace on Earth, a Fat Boy Harley, my neighbors dog to stop barking for hours and a new pair of sneakers. But that's it...not too much to ask for I don't think. You should have seen LAST years list! LOL Ok, so here's some food for thought. And just like it does for me, may it speak directly to you at this moment! - [Praying & Waiting](http://tammytrent.com/praying-waiting/) - Life is tough I know, but don't make the mistake today of thinking that God is not interested in your problems, concerns, hopes or dreams! Because the trust is that scripture makes it really clear that God hears and DOES answer our prayers. I love that and needed that reminder today myself! I totally understand that we all experience times when we wish God would respond immediately and when He doesn't we can begin to feel soo abandoned and completely defeated thinking He's just too busy for us. - [God is Preparing You Today](http://tammytrent.com/god-is-preparing-you-today/) - May you take heart in knowing that God is preparing you for what He has already prepared for you! There is a new season that is already waiting for you. As you allow yourself to take on the fullness of God's processing in your life, He is doing a work in you already, even if you can't see it, so that you will be ready for the day when God opens up all the doors and allows you to walk into that new place. Maybe it's time to "clean house" so you can be fully ready for it. - [Update from TT](http://tammytrent.com/update-from-tt/) - I know it's been awhile since I've sent out a newsletter but the sun was shining again today so I thought, why not! I wanted to take a quick minute to encourage anybody that is feeling like you're waving a white flag of surrender towards Heaven! Jesus sees you and won't let you journey anything alone! I can't do this on my own! I finally surrender all! - [Redeemed](http://tammytrent.com/redeemed/) - Often we hold on soo tightly to things in our lives or our own way of thinking because we don't want to change or it's just soo hard to let go. But God cannot redeem what we will not release. Maybe we forget that He still holds the power to heal and to set free. Maybe we don't believe that He can, or wants to. Maybe we forget at times, that He's still the God of miracles, that He can do in a moments time what might take years for us to work through on our own. - [A Big Milestone](http://tammytrent.com/a-big-milestone/) - It’s been 18 years without the love of my life. I honestly cannot believe I’ve made it this long without him. Has time been my healer? No way! It’s been Jesus and me every step of the way. I’ll admit though, they have not always been the best steps that I’ve chosen to take. In fact, I’ve had many “off the path” steps along the way. But somehow I kept finding my way back. Back to the One who has done more than just get me through the storms. God Himself, has carried me through every season which has lead me straight to this very milestone in my life today. - [Dear God…](http://tammytrent.com/dear-god/) - I can't do this on my own. I surrender all. When we hear the phrase “Surrender to God" we might often think that we are going to have to stop “living” somehow. Surrendering to God doesn't mean that we all of a sudden have no purpose in life. However, some of us have tried to create our own purpose and have surrendered to nothing for a very long time, except our own wills, and all it has done is created one big mess for many. - [It gets better! I promise.](http://tammytrent.com/it-gets-better-i-promise/) - It gets better! It might not seem like it right now, but I promise you, It will get better! I have certainly experienced my share of heartbreak through the years and I wish I could tell you the exact time of the week when the sun will begin to shine again for you too, but I can’t. - [Big Battle! Big Blessing!](http://tammytrent.com/big-battle-big-blessing/) - Whenever I think about hard battles, I think about David & Goliath. If ever there was a lopsided battle, this was it! You’d think that David wouldn’t have had a chance. Goliath was a giant. Yet David, a small shepherd boy, agreed to fight him. I’m sure Goliath must have thought it was some kind of joke when David showed up on the battlefield, with what appeared to be only a slingshot, but that wasn’t the case.David had MUCH more than a slingshot. You see, David had God on his side. - [This Is Not Permanent!](http://tammytrent.com/this-is-not-permanent/) - Your current situation is not permanent...it’s purpose! Things could look totally broken, devastating, unknown or hopeless in your life right now, but you must know that God’s intentions are to always bring you to a place of clarity, wholeness, healing, restoration and purpose in your life! - [Someday You Will Understand](http://tammytrent.com/someday-you-will-understand/) - God puts dreams in our hearts and writes a destiny over our lives. And if we trust Him enough to take Him at His word, we will find ourselves on a journey toward the fulfillment of that dream, even if we don't fully understand what He's doing right now. Remember, storms will come, lions will roar, and our fears will be confronted. And when our paths face difficult detours, He will lead us - refining us, strengthening us and continuing to prepare us for that place of promise. - [Waiting is SO Hard](http://tammytrent.com/waiting-is-so-hard/) - Waiting on God has two really important components. A complete dependence on God AND a willingness to allow Him to decide the terms, including the timing of His plan. While we wait, some times we have to hold on tight and some times we have to let go. But we must always do so with hope filled expectation and trust, knowing that God is not making us wait just to see how long we can “take it.” But there are times I believe God delays His answer, and we will wonder why He seems so reluctant to intervene in our situations. - [Hold On Tight](http://tammytrent.com/hold-on-tight/) - Life has a way of testing our anchors and tempting us to drift…sometimes far away. But here’s the truth, if our anchors are placed firmly in the rock of our redeemer, then they will hold no matter the force of the wind, the strength of the tide, or the height of the waves. Hold on tight to the Truth of your anchor today and make sure it’s beyond secure. ## Pages - [Home](http://tammytrent.com/) - Official site of Tammy Trent—Christian Artist, Speaker, Author, and TV Co-Host.
